Azimuth GeoSolutions is pleased to announce that it has integrated a new depth conversion tool using Machine Learning Time to Depth (MLT2D).
The algorithm converts seismic time volumes to depth using machine learning to produce probability volumes to quantify depth uncertainty. The Machine Learning solution is also useful in seismic processing where velocity models can be generated accurately and fast for both time and depth migration.
The key differentiator is the use of well data to spatially compute TD relationships. Most important is that no layer cake or horizons or tops needed.
The critical data type requirement is well logs, deviation surveys, time-depth tables (check shots or VSP) and most importantly the seismic volumes.
The technique has been applied on both onshore and offshore fields in various geographic locations.
